HEY!
Welcome to my blog-The Happier Traveler!
I am a Canadian girl, attempting to travel as much of this wonderful world as possible. For me, there’s something about travelling and experiencing new cultures that makes me happy- hence the chosen name.
I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and have had the opportunity to participate in International Health conferences, global health initiatives, programs, interest groups, as well as complete an international placement in Grenada. My previous travelling experience includes: Florida and several of the United States, Mexico, India, The Netherlands (my background), Belgium, Paris, London, Grenada, Barbados and Canada of course as my home country. ( I have included some pictures below!)
As a future goal I would like to continue my focus on global health, utilizing my nursing education and passion for health equality to positively impact different communities worldwide. With my desire to travel, I want to be able to immerse myself in various cultures while subsequently offering my skills, knowledge and resources to provide sustainable health changes in diverse international communities. Travelling makes me happy, but being able to fully experience cultures and build relationships with different communities is what really leaves me feeling inspired. I hope to use this inspiration to continue building my goals and producing a positive change in our world; whether it is through nursing, in providing resources, in raising awareness, Β or empowering others to care for global health and the wellbeing of others. I am inspired by the complexities and beauty of a global community and hope these posts will not only keep you updated on my life, and what I am doing aside from ‘vacationing’, but inspire you to also be a better global citizen!
“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make”- Jane Goodall.
As I start this blog I will soon be embarking on a 6 month adventure as a intern to Nyeri, Kenya as a Reproductive Health Outreach Officer with the International Youth Internship Program. For the duration of this placement I will be utilizing this blog to keep family and friends updated, while also giving you readers insight into what I am doing while there! (Look for posts discussing this position and further details). I am thrilled for this opportunity that I have been blessed with and the opportunity to extend my services and resources to international communities. I am also appreciative of the privilege that I hold in this position and am looking forward to the impact that this experience will have in my personal and professional life. I look forward to travelling to a new continent and new culture, and hope you enjoy my updates!
Im excited to share my thoughts and experiences with you all! Stay tuned for my adventures! π

Here are some photos of my previous travels- I live for the ocean, warm temperatures, hiking, scuba diving, and crossing some of the wonders of the world off my list! (I think I was accidentally born in Canada- really made for a warmer climate π )
